Posts Tagged ‘Serenity Quilt Pattern’

My son and daughter in law are Foster Parents and today is one of their foster kid’s birthday party. Grandma Cindy is attending and bringing a quilt, of course!

I found this pattern a while back and have been wanting to make it for a while. It is quick, easy and isn’t very complicated to make. (Sometimes the brain needs something like that!) The piecing pattern is called Serenity from Cozy Quilt Designs. To view the details of this pattern Click Here  I used pastel fat quarters that I had from my stash and quilted it with the Kim Darwin pantograph pattern Shiva. For details Click Here. I used the 16 inch wide pantograph but it also comes in a 10 1/2 inch wide pattern. It is a bit intense, but not really hard, and a lot of fun to quilt. (Note: Oops! I didn’t realize that the larger size pattern was not on the website. I will be adding it when I am finished with the blog.)

I used Signature, 100% cotton quilting thread in the Tye Dye variegated color on both the top and bobbin and Warm Company, Soft & Bright needled polyester batting.

The quilt is 44 x 55 inches. Click on any of the photos for a larger view.

A close up of the quilt and quilting. I love the colors! At first, the quilt was really bland looking, but the quilting really made a difference!

Here is the back of the quilt.

One more photo of the back of the quilt. I thought I would be different and use two fabrics on the back.
